Happy Birthday Mom & Dad

On April 4th my siblings and I flew in from all corners of the US...literally everywhere from Hawaii to New York and a few places in between...to have a surprise birthday party for our parents. We have been talking about this party for about 2 years and we were so relieved that everything came together without the surprise being blown. Both of my parents were shocked to see us all there. It was awesome!

Teri, David and I all flew in on Friday morning. My parents knew Teri was coming, but had no idea that the rest of us were there too. David and I drove up to Logan and picked up the cakes, balloons, and flowers. We headed over to the restaurant to set everything up and wait for everyone else to arrive. Teri spend the afternoon at my parents house trying to act like nothing was about to happen that night. She had told my parents that she wanted to take them out to dinner while she was there since my Dad's birthday was the following week. (We wanted to celebrate my Mom's birthday which is next month while we were all there too.) She told them she made reservations because she hates waiting and she chose the Coppermill in Logan because she knows they like to go there. Everything went like clockwork. Everything was set up and David, Camille, Leanne and I. Along with my dad's siblings and their wives were all there to yell SURPRISE when they walked in.

It was a quick trip for most of my siblings, but I was able to stay a few extra days. It's always fun to have one on one time with my parents. My mom and I went shopping, I was able to see some of my friends and of course we went out to eat a few more times. It's always bitter-sweet leaving I missed Josh like crazy, but I wish my parents lived closer so I could see them more often.

SPRING IS HERE...

and I love it! The weather here has been so nice lately. Sunny, and highs in the 70's! I didn't realize how little we see the sun here unitl it shines again. I love the sun and warm weather it just puts me in a good mood!

Here is a little pregnancy update. I'm now 30 weeks. It's crazy to think that I only have 10 weeks left, but today I was reminded that those 10 weeks might not be so pleasant. As I was at work I was thinking that my shoes are a little tighter than usuall...but they are heels and can sometimes be uncomfortable after wearing them all day. Then I took my socks off looked down at my feet and realized that they are somewhat swollen. GREAT! Other pregnancy woes consist of MASSIVE heartburn at random times of the day or night, and exhaustian. I thought the whole tired part went away after the first trimester or so...which it did, but now it's back again. YEAH! Lots of nights I go home from work and take a nap before I do anything else and then I can still fall asleep super early. But, our baby seems to be doing well he's doing summersaults in there all the time, his heartbeat is strong and he seems to be growing...cuz I am...but we're so glad he's doing well.

THE PREGNANT KANDIS

Here are some pregnant pictures of me. Everyone has been wanting to see how fat I've gotten, so here ya go! I feel huge. Not necessarily like my belly is super large, but other areas like my cheeks and face. People have told me "You don't even look pregnant" I'm not quite sure how to take this. Initially I take it as "So what do I look like I've just gained weight?!" But I'm sure they don't mean that...at least that's what I tell my overly emotional pregnant self. What I like to think they mean is they can barely tell that I've gained any weight and my little guy is so tucked up inside me that I hardly have a belly, so I look as fabulous as I always have...RIGHT!

20 weeks

26 weeks

I was talking to Josh the other night about gaining weight and he said "What did you think was going to happen?" He's so funny. He's been great during all this. He is always there to reasure me and make me feel awesome no matter what is going on.

As far as our little one. He's doing great. He moves around a ton now. He kicks under my right rib a lot, which doesn't feel too great. If he's on track with the 28th week schedule he's breathing in and out and sucking, his eyes are open, his body regulates his temprature and he's making his own blood. It seems like he moves around a lot more when I am in a loud enviornment.

Most of the time I'm really excited for this little guy, but sometimes I start thinking about what a precious gift we are going to get and it's overwhelming the responsibility we have to teach and raise him well. I hope that we'll be everthing he needs us to be.

83 days to go we're getting closer and we're so excited!

Our Vacation...

Leanne, Me, Mom, Dad
...Christmas Vacation that is! I was going through some of my pictures and realized that I did not write anything about our holidays...what a loser I am! On December 19th I flew to Utah where I hung out with my good friend Jenn for the day. From there I went to my parent's house. While I was there my mom and I went shopping, went to the temple and made clocks, it was so fun to spend time with her! My parents and I exchanged Christmas gifts. My sister Leanne and her husband came up and spent some time at my parent's house while I was there too. I was also able to see some of my good friends Sara and Heidi. I wish we lived closer and could hang out all the time. My Mom & Me

My Lover

1.How long have you been married? 4 years and 3 months

2.How long did you date? We went on our first date on July 11th. we talked about marriage 6 weeks later and we were engaged 2 weeks after that & we were married on December 19th. So 5 months I guess...huh, I always thought it was 6!

3.Who eats more sweets? We both eat about the same amount.

4.Who said I love you first? I think it was me. We were at my friend Sheen's Birthday party at her parents house. We went 4-wheeling behind her house and we were sitting on the 4-wheeler in the woods...kissing and I just couldn't let the moment pass me by!

5.How old is he? He just turned 27

6.Who is taller? He is, come on i'm 5'4" it doesn't take much to be taller than me!

7.Who is smarter? How do you define SMART? I don't think I could go to dental school...ok I KNOW I couldn't go to dental school, but I know stuff he doesn't...we're a pretty good balance I think.

8.Who can sing better? Neither of us can really sing...our kids don't stand a chance...but he will sing while he's working out and listening to the ipod or in the shower, and he doesn't care who's around! Gotta love him!

9.Who does the laundry? I do. Unless he needs something right away.

10.Who pays the bills? I do. He just knows if we have money or not...usually not!

11.Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do.

12.Who mows the lawn? He does

13.Who cooks dinner? I usually do, but he'll help me if I ask him to.

14.Who drives? He used to all the time, but since we've moved to NY I have been. I think it started with him wanting to make the most of every study moment and then I learned my way around and now I drive most of the time.

15.Who is more stubborn? Depends on what it is. I'm pretty strong headed about certain things and he is about other things.

16.Who kissed who first? He'll claim it was me who went in for the kill, but REALLY it was him. We were on our first date and after we dropped the other couple off he took me to the park...which soon became "our park" and we layed there and talked and looked at the stars. I asked him to rub my back... i love back rubs, but looking back that was a little forward of me. Then he held me and we talked. If he wasn't going to kiss me then he was doing a good job of playing with my mind. He would rub his cheek against mine and come really close to my lips. Then he'll claim I turned and kissed him, but as I remember I might have made it convenient for him by turning in to him but he puckered up and went in for the kill. Either way neither of us protested!

17.Who asked who out? He asked me out...he was so nervous...and i was so excited!

18.Who proposed? He did, and it was so cute!! He took me to "our park" and there were a million roses layed out on a white blanket spelling "will you marry me" It was so cute!! When I piled all the roses in my arms I said "I feel better than Miss America!"

19.Who has more siblings? He has 5 brothers and 1 sister. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother

Happy 27th Birthday Josh

On Josh's Birthday Sunday March 2nd I had a little surprise birthday party for him. The only problem is he is so hard to distract and get out of the house! First he was going to go play video games with Adrian, but he said he didn't have time for that because he has three midterms this week. He said he could after Wednesday...but obviously that was not going to work. So I called Garth and asked if he could get him out of the house to study for a little bit. The party started at 6:30 so the plan was to take Josh over to Garth & Melissa's and the guys were going to study there and I was going to bring Melissa & Hugh back to our house. Garth was going to bring Josh home to his surpirse party at 6:40. At 5pm just before we were leaving Josh began to question everything. It started with him questioning why he and Garth were going to study together when they both study better on their own. Then Josh saw the cake I had made and wanted some. I told him he couldn't have any yet because it wasn't frosted and the fruit was not on it yet. He then opened the fridge to get something else to eat and saw the cookie dough. Cookies are his favorite and he said he wanted some cookies before he left. I told him I would have them ready when he got home. He doesn't like to eat late so this was not making any sense to him. Then he got out a fork and said he was going to have a bite of the cake since it was just going to be us eating it what difference did it make if there was a little piece missing...right before he took a huge bite. I said WAIT! And I told him that in an hour about 15 people were coming over for a surprise party for him. Not exactly the surprise I was going for, but he truly was surprised! I called Garth & Melissa and told them I had to tell him so they could just come over. When they got to our house Garth said, " I told Melissa you would have to end up telling him. Josh is a logical kind of guy, if it doesn't make sense to him he doesn't usually do it!" SO TRUE! We had a great time celebrating by eating cake and ice cream with some of our friends! Thanks everyone!!
