SICK

I have had the flu for the past 4 days! Fever, Chills, Achie Body, Runny Nose, Watery Eyes, Sore Throat, and now a Cough! It totally sucks, especially since I can't take any medication. I saw my Dr. on Monday... since I stayed home from work I moved my appointment up... and he gave me amoxicillin. I questioned whether or not that was safe for the baby and he assured me it is. Good thing 'cuz after I started taking it I started to feel better. He also told me I should have my tonsils out after I have the baby...which I've heard is way worse when you're an adult, Great!! I'm back at work today. Not feeling awesome, but definitely better!

Happy Birthday Mom & Dad

On April 4th my siblings and I flew in from all corners of the US...literally everywhere from Hawaii to New York and a few places in between...to have a surprise birthday party for our parents. We have been talking about this party for about 2 years and we were so relieved that everything came together without the surprise being blown. Both of my parents were shocked to see us all there. It was awesome!

Teri, David and I all flew in on Friday morning. My parents knew Teri was coming, but had no idea that the rest of us were there too. David and I drove up to Logan and picked up the cakes, balloons, and flowers. We headed over to the restaurant to set everything up and wait for everyone else to arrive. Teri spend the afternoon at my parents house trying to act like nothing was about to happen that night. She had told my parents that she wanted to take them out to dinner while she was there since my Dad's birthday was the following week. (We wanted to celebrate my Mom's birthday which is next month while we were all there too.) She told them she made reservations because she hates waiting and she chose the Coppermill in Logan because she knows they like to go there. Everything went like clockwork. Everything was set up and David, Camille, Leanne and I. Along with my dad's siblings and their wives were all there to yell SURPRISE when they walked in.

It was a quick trip for most of my siblings, but I was able to stay a few extra days. It's always fun to have one on one time with my parents. My mom and I went shopping, I was able to see some of my friends and of course we went out to eat a few more times. It's always bitter-sweet leaving I missed Josh like crazy, but I wish my parents lived closer so I could see them more often.

SPRING IS HERE...

and I love it! The weather here has been so nice lately. Sunny, and highs in the 70's! I didn't realize how little we see the sun here unitl it shines again. I love the sun and warm weather it just puts me in a good mood!

Here is a little pregnancy update. I'm now 30 weeks. It's crazy to think that I only have 10 weeks left, but today I was reminded that those 10 weeks might not be so pleasant. As I was at work I was thinking that my shoes are a little tighter than usuall...but they are heels and can sometimes be uncomfortable after wearing them all day. Then I took my socks off looked down at my feet and realized that they are somewhat swollen. GREAT! Other pregnancy woes consist of MASSIVE heartburn at random times of the day or night, and exhaustian. I thought the whole tired part went away after the first trimester or so...which it did, but now it's back again. YEAH! Lots of nights I go home from work and take a nap before I do anything else and then I can still fall asleep super early. But, our baby seems to be doing well he's doing summersaults in there all the time, his heartbeat is strong and he seems to be growing...cuz I am...but we're so glad he's doing well.

THE PREGNANT KANDIS

Here are some pregnant pictures of me. Everyone has been wanting to see how fat I've gotten, so here ya go! I feel huge. Not necessarily like my belly is super large, but other areas like my cheeks and face. People have told me "You don't even look pregnant" I'm not quite sure how to take this. Initially I take it as "So what do I look like I've just gained weight?!" But I'm sure they don't mean that...at least that's what I tell my overly emotional pregnant self. What I like to think they mean is they can barely tell that I've gained any weight and my little guy is so tucked up inside me that I hardly have a belly, so I look as fabulous as I always have...RIGHT!

I was talking to Josh the other night about gaining weight and he said "What did you think was going to happen?" He's so funny. He's been great during all this. He is always there to reasure me and make me feel awesome no matter what is going on.

As far as our little one. He's doing great. He moves around a ton now. He kicks under my right rib a lot, which doesn't feel too great. If he's on track with the 28th week schedule he's breathing in and out and sucking, his eyes are open, his body regulates his temprature and he's making his own blood. It seems like he moves around a lot more when I am in a loud enviornment.


Most of the time I'm really excited for this little guy, but sometimes I start thinking about what a precious gift we are going to get and it's overwhelming the responsibility we have to teach and raise him well. I hope that we'll be everthing he needs us to be.

83 days to go we're getting closer and we're so excited!

Our Vacation...

...Christmas Vacation that is! I was going through some of my pictures and realized that I did not write anything about our holidays...what a loser I am! On December 19th I flew to Utah where I hung out with my good friend Jenn for the day. From there I went to my parent's house. While I was there my mom and I went shopping, went to the temple and made clocks, it was so fun to spend time with her! My parents and I exchanged Christmas gifts. My sister Leanne and her husband came up and spent some time at my parent's house while I was there too. I was also able to see some of my good friends Sara and Heidi. On Christmas Eve I flew to Colorado to meet Josh, he flew there on Saturday after his crazy finals week. We were not going to spend Christmas apart! We were able to spend time with his parents and brothers and sister that all live there. I was fianally also able to meet Josh's good friend from High School Mike. We came back and were able to enjoy a few days here together before going back to work and school.
