Christmas Eve

We had such a great Christmas this year! We celebrated a little early so that we could go to Colorado. Our Christmas Eve was December 18. We started the day by making and decorating some sugar cookies for Santa. This little guy loved it! He helped me roll them out, cut them out, put frosting on, sprinkle them and taste test them to make sure they were good enough for Santa!

That evening we had our traditional yummy dinner and then opened one present, pajamas for the kids! Since that is a little boring for a kid we let them open their presents to each other. Brinley gave Hayden a new Anakin guy and Hayden gave Brinley some blocks. They both loved them!

Josh opened a present from me, new light weight running shoes. I couldn't stand the suspense my brother had built up about the present he had for me so I chose to open his present. When I unwrapped the wrapping paper it said that Josh had to open his at the same time. So Josh opened his too and they were bobble heads of us! Very cool! They sit on our dresser in our room now so we look at them every day.

The kids posed for a picture by the tree in their new matching snowman pj's. Then we read some Christmas stories and Brinely went to bed while Hayden watched part of the polar express.

Right before going to bed Hayden put out the cookies for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph.

Josh and I finished helping Santa get the presents ready for the next morning which included assembling a very cute wooden kitchen that we got on sale after Christmas the year before, yes we were those parents I never thought we would be with a million...yes a million...pieces all over the floor trying to make them look like a kitchen. After 3 hours it still didn't look like a kitchen, and it was midnight, so we gave up and went to bed.
