Not all it was cracked up to be

{I know I look AWESOME but keep in mind it was POURING rain!}

So we went to the Fray the other night and it was POURING rain! Not our ideal concert weather, but we braved it. Of course we bought the cheapest tickets, which are at the very back on the lawn with no tent over us. We got there in time for the last 1/2 hour of the opening show waited about 30 min for the Fray to come out and stayed for about 5 songs from the Fray. Then we decided that we had enough of the rain, people blowing smoke in our face, teenagers making out or doing things SO inappropriate for a public place and we were drenched so we headed home. It was fun to be together and do something we don't normally do but I think next time we'll spend our $50 on something else! The Fray did put on a good show, but I think we're just getting old!

Father's Day

We had such a good Father's Day. Hayden and I made Josh a breakfast burrito and a smoothie and took it to him in bed. We love you Josh! Thanks for being such an awesome Husband and Dad!

ONE YEAR

He's been doing this funny craw on the grass lately

I had to include this one because we get this occasionally. He's screaming as loud as he can. Usually he isn't upset he just does it in the car when he isn't getting the attention he wants. But in this picture he's letting me know that he's had enough!

FirST TooTH

On Monday June 22 Hayden got his first tooth! The left central incisor. Pretty exciting since he's already one! He eats everything really well but I'm sure this tooth and the others that are coming will only help!

Birthday Party

We had Hayden's first birthday party on Monday. It was planned for the park, but the weather ended up not being park weather that day so we had it at our house. Everyone came ate pizza, cupcakes, and plenty of suckers! Played together, with the toys and with our dog...he's always a hit! Hayden had a great time with all of his friends!

Hayden's 12 Month Stats:

Height: 30 1/4in. ~ 60th percentile

Weight: 21lbs 3oz. ~ 25th percentile

Head Circumfrince: 18 1/4 in. ~ 50th percentile

About a week before Hayden's birthday he was promoted to a forward facing carseat. He loves it! He can see us better and we can see what he's doing, and it's easier to hand him stuff.

He is starting to learn to feed himself with a spoon.

What a cute mess!

I walked in his room to check on him during his morning nap and this is how he was sleeping!

FINALLY

We took the treadmill out of his room now and it seems so much bigger. Not to mention the treadmill actually gets used now.

The other day I was sitting in Hayden's room rocking him and I thought

"I don't think I've ever posted pictures of his room. "

It's been done for a while and I love how it turned out!

WORST Mom EVER

This is the result of the ONE and ONLY time I did not buckle Hayden into his high chair.

the story:

Hayden didn't eat much breakfast so right before we were leaving for church I put him in his high chair to see if he would eat a little more. He was being wiggly and he was only going to be there for a min. so I didn't buckle him in, I just put the tray on. I ALWAYS buckle him in so after he was done I took the tray off and walked over to the sink, forgetting that he was not buckled in. I heard a hard THUNK and turned around to see him hitting the kitchen floor face first! His face immediately had a huge red streak from his forehead to his nose and it was swollen.

This picture is taken about 3 hours after it happened. And luckily today you can barely tell it happened at all!

Birthdays are so much fun!! We had such a great day together!

ONE

I can't believe our little baby is ONE today! The time has serioulsy flown but we've had so much fun watching him grow and discover everything around him.

Some of the things he is doing right now are:

Playing copy cat...we'll stick out or toung or clap our hands and he'll do it right back.

We all love this game!

He occasionally cries when we put him down or walk out of the room. He will crawl over to us really fast and climb up our leg until we pick him up.

He loves to be chased. This is SUPER cute! He'll crawl away really fast and then stop and sit up and turn around to see if we are coming after him. If we get on the ground and crawl after him pounding our hands on the ground he laughs so hard!

He has started to shake his head from side to side like he's saying no, but we're pretty sure he doesn't realize it means no. I think he just likes the way he sees things when he does it. He usually laughs after doing it. Silly little guy!

He has the cutest giggle ever!

He still has NO teeth.

He pulls himself up to absolutely everything and lets go for a few seconds, but is not walking yet.
