too much school?

Last night in the middle of the night Josh turned to me and said, "you need to stop with the ionization" Then he turned over and went back to sleep. I had to laugh someone's been doing too much school! Josh has been getting up every morning at about 3:30 and putting in a 12 to 14 hour day. For those of you that know Josh you know that when I say he did a 12 to 14 hour day it REALLY was 12 to 14 hours. He has a timer on his watch and he times himself when he studies. He stops his timer whenever anyone talks to him or when he walks to class or goes to the bathroom or anything. This semester is intense and he's doing such a great job!

OOPS!

About a week ago I was handing Josh a glass of water and I let go of it before he caught it and it spilled all over his laptop which was open! We wiped it off as fast as we could and for the next 10 minuets it worked fine, then the keys started not working! We thought that it would cost us a lot of money to have it fixed but the nice guy at the apple store said it only damaged the keyboard, nothing more and he would cover it under the warranty! YEAH!! Needless to say we do not have liquids any where near the laptop anymore!

Traditions

We have lots of traditions for the holidays in our family, but recently we started another tradition. Hayden and I meet Josh at school every Friday for lunch. It's so fun to see him during the day and he loves the break. We sit and chat and Hayden gets to play with his Dad. We all win!

2 Months

Weight: 11lbs 2oz - 30th percentile
Height: 22 inches - 25th percentile
Head circumference - 5th percentile

Daddy likes to let me suck on his nose, it's a fun game we play.
Mommy thinks it's gross!
Hayden is praying for you!
When he sleeps he loves having his hands up by his face.
Hayden all ready for church.
I know I should have pulled out that ugly green binki!

At 2 months Hayden loves his swing and likes the toy bar on his bouncie chair. When he kicks his legs all the toys rattle and he thinks it's fun to watch them move. He smiles all the time now and loves it when we talk to him. He goos and coos. It's so fun to hear him 'talking'!

Backpacking

July 21,22 we went backpacking in Allegany State Park. We went there last year and had a great time so we thought we'd do it again this year. We knew from last year that there is no water up there so Josh put 6 2 liter bottles in his backpack! Good thing we weren't planning on backpacking in very far! Hayden did great. He loved his front carrier and he slept great next to us.
There are 2 trails to backpack on, one leads to the other. People are not supposed to camp off the first trail...they don't say why, they just say that your not supposed to. Last year on the second night we camped off the "not supposed to" trail. All night long we heard semi-trucks driving on a freeway near us. We didn't think there was a freeway anywhere near where we were. The next morning we looked on a map and there is NO freeway!
This year we didn't want to hike in that far so we camped off the "not supposed to" trail again. We heard lots of noises that you can't make yourself believe were animals or anything in nature. It sounded like airplanes landing and lots of other weird noises. We planned to stay 2 nights but after hearing weird noises all night, getting attacked by mosquitos anytime you stepped out of the tent because it was so wet, and humid, and being stuck in the hot tent we decided to come home after one night. Despite all the weird noises, mosquitos and humidity I would have stayed another night just because I love backpacking. I love being out in the quiet woods with our little family and no other distractions. By the way we came home and looked online there is no airport anywhere near Allegany State Park!

Family Pictures

While we were in Utah we had our sister in-law Denise take some family pictures. I think they turned out pretty good. Thanks Denise!

It doesn't get any cuter than this

I love these pictures we had taken of Hayden when he was about 6 weeks old.

Milestones

July 23, 2008 Hayden gave us his first real smile. It was so cute! Since then he smiles more and more often and bigger and bigger smiles. He also "talks" to us now. We love it!

August 11, 2008 Hayden slept 5 hours at night. It would probably be more beneficial for me if I went to bed earlier, but it was still quite the accomplishment for a 2 month old.
